Sometimes you are starving and in need of a snack. Your hunger gets the best of you and you overlook obvious things.
Tonight I went to the local boat show. Along with boating stuff, they allow any vendor with a product into the show. One vendor was selling mixes for dips, and they had fifteen dips made and laid out as samples. I asked the vendor how you make them and confirmed that there is no gluten in them. Exciting! So, I start to sample them… then I suddenly realize I am eating pretzels! Crap! Fun over!
Don’t let your excitement and hunger get the best of you!
Get some gluten free dip mixes to eat with some corn chips or GF pretzels.
Sometimes when I go to restaurants, I find myself looking for vegetarian items thinking that I can’t eat meat. It takes me awhile to realize it’s the bun–not the patty–that I can’t eat. I guess that’s the problem with not being raised GF
Ha! What a familiar story! I recently visited Dream Dinners, one of those places where you order meals in advance, then go on a specific date and they have all the ingredients ready for you to make a bunch of meals all at once. Several of their recipes called for flour for sauces or pasta, which was tough. I loved the experience and the food was good, but will now always take some GF flour mix and always use my own GF pasta from home rather than what they offer. There are ways to get around these problems if you go prepared.
