    nice review mike, glad there are some more options out there now. something you might want to look at to go with the woodchuck review is hornsby’s hard cider, i have gotten mixed info online as to how gluten free it is but after about 5 and a half one night i had no reactions so i would be willing to say it is fine (might not be for some extremely sensitive celiacs but i am decently sensitive) however i didnt like the taste but others might.

    I think this was a fair review. I’d like to see a cider review- I’m biased, Strongbow is the best. I do disagree with the reviews of Bard’s, Redbridge & New Grist. I like Bard’s the best, I think this is a tough review b/c these guys aren’t glutenfree so it’s hard because they’ve tasted the regular beers recently. I’ve been gf for a while now and I cannot even remember what gluten tastes like. I did however drink beer frequently – mostly dark beers. Keep up the good work though.

    Achatel: I have 5 flavors of Woodchuck and another cider beer in my fridge. I plan on doing a review with them sometime soon.

    Yes, those first three are hard to compare and pick a favorite. Depending on the day, I could pick any of the three as a favorite.

    Great review! I just stumbled across your site from CeliacFacts.com. I’ve been drinking Redbridge for quite some time – good to see how it compares to some of the others. Keep up the great work – love your site!

    Being newly diagnosed w/ CD, I sincerely appreciate these reviews. I think they would have been more credible, though, if (1) two of the tasters weren’t smoking stogies (which has got to affect the taste) and (2) the test was “blind,” i.e., the tasters couldn’t identify the beers by seeing their colors and didn’t know what samples they were tasting. Maybe next time?

  7. Mike says:

    @Ray
    Great ideas! I have all of those brands, plus a few more, sitting in the fridge waiting for my next video tasting. I agree, the next one will be blind!

  8. Bobby says:

    I recommend for your next review you try Green’s Amber Ale. It’s marvelous!

  9. Matt says:

    @bobby that is their “discovery” right?

    IMHO it wasnt my bag, their double dark though was killer.

    those 2 greens i had seemed to be better beers though than some of the other more common ones, i have a greens triple blonde still to drink but i expect it to be less than the double dark

    I am allergic to wheat, so am constantly on the look out for GF anything… I personally prefer RedBridge vastly to Bards (I find Bards to be quite bitter at the end), but am quite excited to hear about New Grist and St. Peters– thanks for the reviews! I have had quite a few of the Green’s and am mixed on them.

    Thanks for the reviews, just found your site looking for some different gf beers. I am in the boonies and the only beer I have found (after lots of searching) is the Redbridge. I do like it but have been looking for a pils type beer so this is helpful. now, if I could only find it!

    I did have 1 thought besides what ray said. I think if you cleansed the palate that would be good. Ehow tells you how to cleanse you palate after beer tasting. :) thanks for the review, will be reading your blogs.
