Wild Thymes Contest: Wristband Photos

I AM EXTENDING THE CONTEST…. since I am the only one who submitted photos.  I had a lot of people purchase gluten free wristbands because they were going to take submit a photo, but no one has yet.  I’ll keep this contest open for a while longer, so submit your photos!

Here is one I took a few days ago…

I have partnered up with Wild Thymes Farm to start another fun contest!
.
Over the past few months, I have sent Gluten Free Awareness Wristbands all over the country and a handful worldwide, to individuals, businesses, and gluten free events! I think it would be a lot of fun to know where all these wristbands have ended up, traveled, and the activities they have performed.

Wild Thymes GF Wristband Photo Contest ‘09 from Switch2GlutenFree on Vimeo.

Contest: Take a picture of your wristband in a cool place or performing a fun activity.  I know these wristbands have hit almost all the continents and done some pretty cool things! The contest will run all summer(the week after Labor Day), so you have time to take photos on your vacations or summer activities.

I would really like to see GF wristband photos from outside of the USA.  If you are out of the United States, use coupon code “worldwide” to receive $1 off your order.

Prizes: Three selected winners will receive a sample pack from Wild Thymes!  Each winner will get to choose one dressing, marinade, dipping sauce, and cranberry sauce combination of their choice, to be included in their gift pack, valued over $50! EVERYONE who submits a photo will instantly receive a 25% off coupon code to use on www.wildthymes.com.

Early next week, my order will arrive, and I will be able to give you a personal review of the products.  I’m really excited, because the bland salads and vegetables I have been eating for months are getting pretty boring.

Suggestions:

Take a photo of a wristband in your home town, when you are on vacation, or if you are doing any other fun activity.  Even take it with your cell phone…. no Photoshop, please!  I’d love to chart all the places we receive photos from.  EMAIL me the photo with the location and description and I will post them below.

I’ll start off the contest with a couple sample photos, as an example: (too bad I am going to Athens, Greece this fall, after the contest is over)

    Dear friend.
My name is Sonia Spanish journalist and a granddaughter of celiac six years.
I love the bracelets, the menus … the photos on your blog congratulations (!)
What worries me is the lack of laws to the celiac group, the lack of gluten-free menus in schools, at work, and travel …
The celiac know what you can eat, but and society?
I’m worried that my granddaughter in the absence of law firms do not have a social integrcion worldwide.

In Europe we have a law approved labeling came into force in 2011, as you are in Texas? you have specific laws for celiacs?
    a warm greeting

  2. I just wanted to comment back to Sonia. I am so happy that you are such a supportive grandmother. You do not realize how hard it can be for those suffering with Celiac’s disease to actually get the acceptance of family. So many deny the problem for a long time. I applaud your effort. I live in Michigan and I know our school is required by law to serve the students a GF meal IF you bring in the proper verification from a doctor stating you have Celiac’s Disease. It is quite a process but it is in place. I chose not to bother and just have my daughters pack a lunch everyday. It is actually cheaper that way. The government is also working on labeling nationwide. The only problem is that they test for gluten and if the food does not contain 20 ppm or more gluten they can label it GF. Even if it does actually have gluten in it. Many people are up in a roar over this. It might create confusion for new Celiac patients and they might still get sick. I personally am in favor of just following a naturally GF diet. Although I do enjoy my new Betty Crocker GF cake mix when I am in a hurry! I hope this helped a little.
