Gluten Free Recipe Crawl: SWEETS!

Here’s a recipe crawl post for you…on sweets, of course! We’ve all had that “me want cookie” moment…well at least I have. And we all miss those tasty, processed fun-foods we grew up with. Here are a few recipes I’ve found, hopefully it will curb the craving: GF mock Oreos Fruit Roll-ups (without the Corn-syrup!) Goldfish Crackers (you need to sub the flour, but I bet it would still work!) Pop-tarts (not a GF recipe either, but it’s worth playing with the recipe to get the sub for…mmmm…tarty!) GF Crescent rolls (some great variations,...

Fortune Wok: Kansas City

In my Triump: Gluten Free Dining Guide, I noticed a Chinese place nearby.  I figured I’d give it a shot.  I used to love to go to Chinese buffets.  I would sacrifice quality for quantity and the availability of a quick meal.  With the most common soy sauces containing wheat, I thought I’d never be able to eat Chinese again.  I was wrong.  I had a great experience at Fortune Wok in Shawnee Mission! I ordered the gluten free sesame chicken, and my girlfriend ordered the “normal” people sesame chicken.  The price was a couple dollars higher for the gluten free, but well...

As I type this, my stomach is starting to hurt.  Regardless, I keep putting more candy into my mouth… I have 6 open bags of gummy candy sitting on my desk.  I need to move them away in fear of getting sick and not finishing this article. I have bags of Surf Sweets: gummy worms, super sour worms,...
