I am not an accountant. I am only sharing with you the information I have found or been told. It is your duty to check with your accountant and bring to their attention the appropriate IRS citations.
The following About.com excerpt states that:
“Several rulings by the IRS seem to suggest that if your total medical expenses for the year exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income, you may be able to deduct the difference in cost between “regular” food products and gluten-free alternatives, as well as the total cost of items that would not be purchased at all if not for the gluten-free...

GLUTEN FREE Wristbands are in stock!
I was having a hard time reminding myself to eat gluten free. All my old habits would subconsciously come back and I would find myself reaching or thinking about something with gluten. I decided to get myself a LIVESTRONG wristband to support all diseases/cancers and as a constant reminder to myself to eat gluten free. It worked!
I decided to have GLUTEN FREE wristbands made! Once I started wearing mine, people everywhere were asking me about it or asking me if I had celiac. Not only is it a daily visual reminder, but it is a conversation starter.
Over...

I am looking for feedback on this one….
I have been doing very well eating gluten free! I have been eating great while at home, not drinking beer, and making the right choices when going out to eat. Tonight on TV, I saw a little health reminder that fiber is an essential part of your diet to eating healthy. It help in the digestive process and prevents future problems.
While eating a simple gluten free diet, I am probably lacking in fiber and some other important areas! What ares do we gluten free-ers miss and how can we make up for them???
Just when I thought I was doing well…...

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip… I could not live without it! Whenever we have people over or we are taking something somewhere, I always bring it. I was introduced to it by my cousin Michelle(a celiac). I love having some leftover for lunch or a snack. It is my remedy for breaded buffalo chicken tenders.
Ingredients:
3 or 4 chicken breasts.
2- 8oz. cream cheese blocks
2 cups shredded cheese (your preference of cheese)
1 cup Frank’s Buffalo Red Hot Sauce
1 stick of butter
1 Bag of gluten-free corn chips or Fritos
Recipe:
Microwave chicken breasts until half cooked.
Shred...

I ran across this list on Amy’s, The Savvy Celiac, Blog and thought it was too good not to pass on. If you are on FaceBook, you can’t miss all the “25 Random Things About Me” posts. This is Amy’s list, but I am going to insert some personal comments on most of the topics.
25 Random Things about Celiac Disease
1. Affects 1 in 133 Americans** (approximately 3 million)- 97% are undiagnosed*
Shocking! This means that 2.9 Million people do not know they have Celiac! If it didn’t run in my family, and with my lack of the stomach type of symptoms, I would...

Sorry this took so long to post… someone had to drink all the samples….
Now that I can no longer drink beer… I have found satisfaction in margaritas. Don’t get me wrong, nothing is as good as a nice cold, fresh Bud Light, but a lime or strawberry margarita(no salt, please) can at least take my mind off of beer(a nice cold, fresh Bud Light on a hot summer day).
This is my favorite recipe, courtesy of my uncle O.J.
“1 can of Bacardi’s margarita mix, or 1 can of frozen Limeade
8+ oz of tequila
4 oz of triple sec
1 oz of orange juice
Fill with ice and get the...

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize that meal you thought was gluten-free, really wasn’t… and you need to fart.
The music is really loud, so you decide to be clever and time your farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop.
As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down. That’s when you remember:
…..you’ve been listening to your ipod.

Here is a list of gluten free beers that can satisfy your beer craving and let you old a cold glass bottle in your hand once again!
Beer is one of the things I miss the most since switching to gluten free. Most of all I miss the convenience of going to any friend’s house or any gas station and being able to grab a beer, especially on a hot summer day. When I first switched to the gluten free diet, I didn’t like the taste of any of the gluten free beers. They just didn’t compare to what I was used to. After being gluten free for a year, I now enjoy many of the gluten free...
