Gluten Free Sick Day Foods

A while back someone asked me “what are some good foods to eat when you are sick?”  I don’t get sick too often, BUT today I am!  It seems like when you are sick, you crave unhealthy, soothing foods. I really want to hear from you about what you eat when you are sick. My personal favorites: Orange Sherbet Warm Apple Cider Orange Juice Soups Here is a screen shot of General Mills Progresso Soups that are gluten free:

Beginners Video on Celiac

This is the most educational video I have ever seen on celiac and gluten intolerance.  It starts out very basic, then gets in-depth about what is actually going on in the body and why.  Then it goes into the history of celiac.  I had never heard the history elsewhere, so trust it if you want. Showing this video would be a great way to explain celiac to someone.  Even when I tell people what it means to be gluten intolerant, I can’t get the idea across this well.

10 Month Update: All About Mindset

I figured it was time to give everyone an overall update as I am hours away from my ten month anniversary of being gluten free.  I enjoy, learn from, and get encouragement from other people’s stories, so I am going to share mine. It hasn’t been nearly as hard as I had thought.  It is all about mindset.  Once you have it in your head that you are not going to eat gluten, and you accept that you never will again, it isn’t so hard.  Like anything you do in life, you have to do it 100% to be successful! I was diagnosed a few years ago, but I was living a fast-paced life and didn’t...

Do you play in traffic, blindfolded? Have you ever played Russian Roulette? Do you pray for cancer? Do you eat gluten? Is Wine Gluten Free?

I’ve heard: “Unbleached flour paste is used to assure a leak-proof seal on the heads.” Wine is one of those things celiacs have always assumed to be gluten free… BUT is it really? First, I have NEVER heard, even from the most sensitive people, that wine has ever bothered(gluten style) anyone. Here are two links to descriptions on how wine barrels are made.  You will notice they use a flour paste to create a leak-proof seal: http://www.stavin.com/barrelsystems/insert.htm http://www.mastergardenproducts.com/howbarrelsmade.htm On the contrary…. “I’m a winemaker...
